Author Spotlight and Giveaway - Jennifer Silverwood

Today, author Jennifer Silverwood is here for a little fun. She's a good friend of mine and a very talented writer. If you've not read her work, here's a peek at her current catalog:

Yep, they are gorgeous. But in celebration of a brand new release, I've asked Jenn some of my favorite interview questions. What new release, you say...
So glad you asked. Here's Vynasha, a beautifully dark and charming fairy tale coming this month:

If you're anything like me, you're about to buy this book right now based solely on the cover art. But don't worry, you won't regret it. I've had a chance to preview the story and it is just as lovely as the picture. So, check out the synopsis on Goodreads and add it to your library here, but hurry back because we've got fun stuff to do :)

Jennifer Silverwood, Author Q & A

Thanks for playing, Jenn! I'm going to change things up a bit because authors tend to answer the same interview questions over and over. Here are a few of my favorites, begged, borrowed, and stolen from my own interviewers (thanks guys!).

Question 1. The world is ending. Your shelter is stocked with all the basic necessities: water (nuclear war), shotgun (zombie apocalypse), silver bullets (werewolf uprising). What five luxury items would you take in?
Jenn: A laptop that can recharge itself without battery. Enough medicine to last me a lifetime. A mysterious powder substance that allows me to become an Underworld-ish kick ace monster killer! A replicator to make food and water whenever I need it. Some kind of sonar system built into my head so I have a sixth sense when the monsters are near!
Me: Hahaha. That is brilliant. My answers now seem lame. I'll be sitting there with a jar of peanut butter and an iPod while you're out saving the world.

Question 2. Open your book to a random page and read us a few lines.
Jenn: "Emrys glared at the amber liquid swirling around within its crystal decanter and leaned heavily on the mantel. Fire had always fascinated him, untouchable, unbearable as it was to his flesh. He was a creature of the shadows, of cold and dank places. Jessamiene’s close ties to the moon were what drew him. If she was the silvery surface of its perfect face, then he was its darker shadow, the flip side of its beauty."
-Silver Hollow: Pg 179

Question 3. What book are you reading now?
Jenn: Outlining Your Novel: Map Your Way to Success by K.M. Weiland, My Highland Lord by Tarah Scott, Seeing Redd by Frank Beddor, and A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

Question 4. What books are you looking forward to?
Jenn: The sequel to Bound by Prophecy! ;p
Me (interrupting her): Awwww.
Jenn: Also, a couple books I just purchased: Losing Hope and This Girl by Colleen Hoover, Crave by Melissa Darnell and Some Quiet Place by Kelsey Sutton.

Question 5. How do you relax?
Jenn: Cup of hot tea, candles lit and lights out except for my laptop and a lamp if I'm reading a book.

Question 6. Favorite movie?
Jenn: I can only narrow this down to five ;)  The 10th Kingdom, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Benny & Joon, Stargate and Splash.

Author Bio

I am an artist, musician, author and believer in bigger dreams.

I have been to Dracula's castle and lived to tell the tale.

I work with children, though by the end of the day it feels more like they worked me lol

I know how to properly use a rifle, survive a world of diapers, snotty noses and physical maiming from same children on a daily basis.

I'm a Christian and a Texan, you can guess the rest ;)

I've never quite fallen out of the habit of dreaming bigger than is healthy and can't seem to stop.
